Review Rio Music Carnival 2019 – 11/02/2019

The Rio Carnival Music held its 8th edition in the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro and the House Mag been there. 6 very different parties, the RMC had attendance record in 2019, the new Marina da Glória and 00 in Gávea.

The first night had the headliner Swede Axwell, which was highly anticipated by much of the public and has a very different set some people thought, not only playing the explosives drops EDM but also different styles bands, like the original version of “Hotline Bling” by Drake and “Jungle Bae” Major Lazer. Classics like “Up To No Good” from Porn Kings and acapellas with modified tone (it seems that it is fashionable) were part of the set, as well as their latest productions with partner Sebastian Ingrosso. “This Time”, “On My Way” and “Something New” were some, and “Do not Worry Child”, the Swedish House Mafia. In closing, he played “Opus” by Eric Prydz, with vocals of hits that have marked his career, such as “Center Of The Universe,” “Nothing But Love” and “Feel The Vibe”. It was a beautiful presentation.

Vintage Culture auction the Gloria Marina track on the second day, playing hits like “Sweet Disposition”, “B.Y.O.B” and “That’s Why”, the Dashdot. The DJ and Bakermat Dutch producer came next with a tropical set and deep house, typical sound for sunsets and pool parties. Ananda and Amanda Chang marked the evening with great sets as well. Chang ended the RMC track with tracks like “Up & Down” by Charles Ramirez, Luca M and Just 2. “It was an amazing opportunity to show my work. The RMC is a grand event that takes greater proportions with each passing year and is making history in the Rio Carnival, “she said.

Dennis’s Ball was the most crowded day of the RMC and had all sold out soon after the opening of sales. The DJ got the performance of MC Guimê and Valesca Popozuada on a set of 3 hours, where he played classical and hits the funk. Other artists who flirt with the culture of bass music as Rodrigo S, Omulu and Marginal Men completed the line-up. Kolombo, Alok and Gabe made great performances in night signed by the label Love Sessions on the penultimate day of the festival. Aiming to convey love through music, the party had an audience with beautiful people who went there to enjoy an evening essentially deep and tech-house.

And, to close, Hardwell closed his tour in Brazil and could not stop playing the mash-up of “Favela Ball” (John MC) with “Ping Pong”. Where he spent in Brazil these last few weeks, the new anthem played funk and let the insane audience, who sang the song endlessly even after it has finished. The entire September it had older songs, no big news and hits well known pop artists like The Weeknd, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Daft Punk and Coldplay. Hands up, screams and lots of excitement, that has most marked the last night.

Not far away, the duo The Martinez Brothers pulled many compliments from those who dug the night at 00 with 5-hour set, in celebration signed by D-Edge which began in the afternoon and went to the morning, closing with mastery, Rio Music Carnival 2019.
